PURPOSE:To obtain excellent corrosion resisting property without impairing magnetic characteristics and mechanical strength by a method wherein an organic film containing corrosion-resisting agent is formed on the rare-earth iron magnet consisting of a sintered alloy. CONSTITUTION:An organic film containing a corrosion-resisting agent effective to prevent corrosion is formed on a rare-earth iron magnet. This organic film is effective especially for the rare-earth iron magnet consisting of a sintered alloy, and e remarkable corrosion-preventing effect can be displayed by forming it on the surface layer containing intercrystalline void part in the internal part of the material. Said organic film containing the corrosion preventing agent is formed by having solvent dilution type corrosion preventing oil infiltrated into or coated on a magnet and it is hardened. Carboxylic acid, a metallic soap, ammonium salt, sulfonate, amines, ester and a corrosion preventing agent containing one or two or more kinds of thiophosphate are effectively used as the corrosion preventing agent, and pertaining to the organic film, the scattering and diffusion of the corrosion preventing agent can be prevented by using asphalt and resin as a hard film and by using petrolatum, lanoline, the fraction of lubricating oil and the like as a soft film.
