The fishing line reel is mounted on the protruding end of a spindle rotating in a housing and coupled to a crank for winding in. A friction brake (9) allows the reel to slip on catching a fish, to avoid overloading or breaking the line. Two separate controls adjust the brake shoes (7,8), which act against a component (17) on the spindle (4). The first shoe (11) is for basic brake adjustment, and the second for quick braking (12). |
