PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of a transistor power converter by outputting a command altering the upper set value of output currents in response to the fluctuation of supply voltage and limiting the actual value of output currents by the upper set value. CONSTITUTION:A transformer 21 is connected to an AC power supply 2, a voltage detector 22 is connected on the secondary side of the transformer 21, and the voltage of the AC power supply 2 is detected and applied to a current upper-value setting circuit 23. The current upper-value setting circuit 23 transmits a command varying the output currents of a transistor inverter 5 over a current regulator 26 through a current setter 24 in response to the voltage fluctuation of the AC power supply 2. On the other hand, the output current of the transistor inverter 5 are detected by a current transformer 25, and inputted to the current regulator 26. The current regulator 26 transmits a control signal bringing the deviation of both input signals to zero over a current limiter 27. Accordingly, the output current value of the transistor inverter 5 is inhibited at a command value from the current upper-value setting circuit 23.
