PURPOSE:To prevent a pressure print from being caused on a magnetic sheet by imbedding a permanent magnet to a regulating plate holder, providing an electromagnet to a cover, moving the holder at the recording or reproduction to be at a prescribed by means of the attracting and repulsing force and escaping the holder at the end. CONSTITUTION:A regulating plate drive circuit 58 supplies a prescribed quantity of current to coils 52, 52 while receiving a control signal from a control circuit 60 in closing an upper cover 28 to allow the permanent magnets 29, 82 imbedded in the regulating plate holder 70 and positioning ping 50, 56 are attracted mutually and the upper cover 28 is closed to the device main body 24 while the plate 72 is placed at a prescribed position. The holder 70 is escaped from the prescribed position in interlocking with the end of recording or reproduction at the end of them. Thus, the production of a pressure print caused by a magnetic head 42 projected onto the magnetic sheet 12 is prevented.
