PURPOSE:To prevent the misdetection of a start control signal by a voice or the like from a telephone set by detecting a start signal again when a facsimile main body and a telephone line are connected. CONSTITUTION:When the start signal is sent from an opposite party via a terminal 3 or if a noise corresponding to the start signal is invaded from a telephone set 4, a 1st control signal detection section 5 discriminates it as 'the start signal is detected', connects the facsimile main body 1 to a telephone line to attain the facsimile communication enable state. On the other hand, a 2nd control signal detection section 6 detects whether the start signal is fed from the opposite party or not. If the detected start signal is not a normal start signal and ' the start signal is detected' is discriminated due to the noise corresponding to the start signal invaded from the telephone set 4, then the line is disconnected from the facsimile main body 1 and connected switchingly again to the telephone set 4 to bring the mode into the communication enable state. Thus, no hindrance to talking is caused.
