PURPOSE:To prevent curling and cracking, to improve fittability and conveyability, and to prevent frequent occurrences of poor transfer parts and uneven image density, and sticking of dye fixing elements to each other by preserving the dye fixing elements each provided with at least one dye fixing layer on a support under a specified relative humidity. CONSTITUTION:The dye fixing elements are preserved under a relative humidity of 25-85%, preferably, 30-75%, and if the relative humidity is <25%, curling occurs heavily, resulting in deteriorating fittability to a heat development and transfer processing device and conveyability in this device, incurring frequent occurrences of cracking, and poor transfer parts like white spots. If the relative humidity is >=85%, the dye fixing elements stick to each other, and in the case of using the element containing a large amount of water-soluble salts, precipitation of them occurs.
