PURPOSE:To prevent a sticking phenomenon or blocking during preservation in a taken-up state from occurring, by composing a protective layer of a film- forming resin having hydroxyl groups and a specified isoyanatosilane compound. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer of a thermal transfer recording medium is composed of a film-forming resin having hydroxyl groups and an isocyanatosilane compound having at least one Si atom and an isocyanate group linked directly to the Si atom in the molecule thereof. The isocyanatosilane compound has an Si-NCO linkage in the molecule thereof, and one having two or more Si-NCO linkages is particularly preferable. The film-forming resin and the isocyanatosilane compound are dissolved in an appropriate organic solvent to prepare a coating material, which is applied to the surface of a film base, followed by drying to provide the protective layer. The weight ratio of the resin to the isocyanatosilane compound is suitably 95/5-2/98, preferably, 90/10-50/50. |
