PURPOSE:To scan a fine part of a sample body by a small number of ultrasonic wave transmitter-receivers by constituting the ultrasonic wave transmitter- receivers arcuately. CONSTITUTION:An electronic sector probe is constituted by mounting the plural ultrasonic wave tranmiter-receives 8 on a sectorial case 7, charging an ultrasonic wave propagating medium 11 such as oil in the case 7 which has a film 10 spread in an ultrasonic wave transmitting/receiving opening 9, and further providing bag materials 12. The transmitter-receives 8 are connected to transmitting and receiving devices 13 respectively. The transmitting and receiving devices 13 are driven in order to send out ultrasonic waves from the transmitter-receives 8 in order, and then echoes of the ultrasonic waves are scanned in a small arc nearby the center points of the arcs of the transmitter-receivers 8 as shown by dotted lines and received, so the part of the sample body 14 is analyzed in detail.
