PURPOSE:To judge between a local call and a toll call and to generate a proper selection signal by inputting information on the name of the place where a user is present prior to the input of a key word for telephone calling. CONSTITUTION:A RAM 3 is constituted as a memory for storing information defined by the user and the key word which is inputted when the selections signal for a telephone number to be registered or telephone number to be called is transmitted and information on the name of the place where the user resides are inputted on a keyboard 4. Then, the toll station number corresponding to the information on the place name is retrieved in the defined information stored previously in a ROM 2 and the head part of the telephone number registered with the key word and the toll station number which is registered are compared with each other. When the both do not coincide with each other, the toll number is required, so the selection signal corresponding to the registered telephone number is sent to a pay station line at (i). Consequently, the proper selection signal is generated.
