PURPOSE:To enable a slip paper to be set at a predetermined position, by lifting a carrier shaft and a feeding roller shaft upward through an equalizer arm when inserting the slip paper between a printing head and a platen. CONSTITUTION:With a pulley 22 rotated, an eccentric cam 20 and a ratchet 25 are rotated as one body with a cam shaft 21. When the ratchet 25 comes into contact with a ratchet-fastening member 26, rotation of the cam shaft 21 is inhibited, and the eccentric cam 20 is engaged with a cam-engaging part 17b of an equalizer lever 17 to depress the part 17b downward. As a result, a shaft-receiving part 17a of the lever 17 pushes an up/down switching shaft 16 upward, and a carrier shaft 4 and a feeding roller shaft 5 are lifted upward, whereby a printing head 3 is moved upward, and the gap between the head 3 and a platen 1 is enlarged. Therefore, a setting position of a slip paper can be visually verified, and since the tip of a paper stopper 29 comes into contact with the top face of a lower cover 10, the leading end of the slip paper can be set at a predetermined position.
