PURPOSE:To surely obtain an accessed image by providing a videotex terminal with a masking means for invalidating key entry withing a prescribed time at the time of depressing a control key for invalidating the monitoring of key entry. CONSTITUTION:An MPU 12 decodes data obtained by demodulating a receiving signal videotex-centered in response to an input through a line control circuit 10 by a MODEM 11 and applies the decoded data to a display control circuit 13. The circuit 13 converts the received signal into a video signal and displays the decoded video signal on a monitor 14. On the other hand, a key decoder 16 decodes a request image key entry signal applied from a keyboard 15 and applies the decoded signal to the MODEM 11. The MODEM 11 modulates a key code and sends the modulated key code to the videotex center through the circuit 10. After the depression of a control key on the keyboard 15, the MPU 12 neglects key entry for a prescribed time set up by a timer setting switch 17 to inhibit the transmission of the key code to the center. Thereby, key entry depressed up to a response from the center is masked and an accessed image can be surely obtained.
