The invention relates to a yellow ink which is suitable for use in an ink-jet printer. The object of the invention was to create an ink which, when mixed with other primary inks, enables prints of good quality to be produced, and enables the production of copies from coloured originals with faithful colour reproduction. According to the invention this object has been achieved in that the yellow ink contains, in addition to solvents and damping agents and a fungicide, a dye of the following structural formula <IMAGE> in a concentration of 3-6% by weight.u
