An indicator for diagnostic purposes, which includes a carrier substance to be wetted with the liquid to be investigated, consists of an arrangement, which completely envelops the carrier substance, of thermoformed part, covering sheet and adhesive tape, in which, on the one hand, the carrier substance to be wetted is enclosed securely and protected from external contamination and, on the other hand, introduction and delivery regions for the sample liquid are easily accessible and can be closed again. In particular, the thermoformed part consists of a thermoformed plastic sheet, and the covering sheet consists of an aluminium foil sealed thereon.
