PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of engine stall by detecting the end of motoring by means of an off signal inputted from a starter switch, and prohibiting the input of a signal from said starter switch during a set period of time from the time when said off signal is imputted. CONSTITUTION:When starting an engine, as a starter switch 4 is turned on, a driving coil 8 is electrified and a movable contact 14 connects a battery side fixed contact 10 to a motor side fixed contact 12. Thereby, a starter motor 6 is driven starting (by motoring) the engine. In this case, when the end of the motoring of the engine is detected by a control circuit 18 according to the off signal from the starter switch 4, the input of a signal from the starter switch 4 is forbidden during a set period of time from the time of detecting the off signal. Thereby, unnecessary increase in the quantity of fuel after starting the engine can be prevented, improving a starting property.
