PURPOSE:To print image information at a high speed with good efficiency by providing a read information receiving means, a means which composes information of read image information and image information stored in an image storage means, and a printing-out means which prints out the composite information. CONSTITUTION:In general, image data processed by a host computer has resolution lower than the read resolution of a scanner 200 and is not many-valued gradation data frequently and dither-processed data or binary data in almost all cases. For the purpose, data is converted to a data format matching with the processing of the host and outputted by an image information output device 100, so 6-bit multivalued gradational image data from the scanner 200 is compressed by the known data compressing/expanding means of a compressing/ expanding part 16 and multivalued data is converted by the know method at a data conversion part 17 into dither-processed binary data, which is sent out to the host. Thus, the desired image data is transferred in a short data transfer time.
