PURPOSE:To achieve a higher equivalence to the environment of an actual machine and accuracy of evaluating the degree of promotion of corrosion, by detecting and controlling the temperature of a test piece and electric conductivity near the surface of the test piece in addition to the temperature and humidity of a test tank. CONSTITUTION:A test piece 1 is wrapped with a glass wool 2 with one end thereof dipped into a corroding liquid and placed into a test tank 3. The temperature and humidity of the test tank 3 can be varied by a heater 4 and a humidifier 5 repeatedly in a fixed pattern. In this connection, a temperature sensor 6, a moisture sensor 7 and a pressure sensor 8 are mounted in the test tank. A temperature sensor 9 and an electric conductivity sensor 10 are mounted on the test piece 1 at the portion wrapped with the wool 2. Moreover, a corroding liquid section into which one end of the wool 2 is dipped is fed with a corroding liquid from a corroding liquid tank 13 with the temperature of the liquid controlled by a temperature adjustor 12. This enables quantitative control of the temperature and the electric conductivity affecting the corrosion damage thereby achieving a higher equivalence to the environment of an actual machine and accuracy of evaluating the degree of promotion of corrosion.
