PURPOSE:To reduce sliding friction by arranging a partition plate made of alpha-silicon carbide ceramic containing beryllium on an impeller side surface of a stator coil to form a sliding plane together with the back surface of the impeller and forming grooves on one surface of the sliding plane. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a flat plate 31 of an impeller 13 forms a rotor side sliding surface while a partition plate made of a flat plate 32 of ceramic constituting a stator side sliding surface opposite to the rotor side sliding surface covers a surface of a stator coil 23. Silicon carbide ceramic containing beryllium is used for the flat plate 32. On the surface of the flat plate 31 are formed spiral grooves 38 to produce dynamic pressures. This enhances heat dissipating characteristic while reducing sliding resistance.
