A packaging container with an overpressure valve (10) is proposed, which container is suitable for the gas-tight packaging of products which are sensitive to oxygen and give off gas. In one wall (5), the packaging container has a gas passage opening (12) which is closed by the overpressure valve. To design the passage opening as a filter, in particular as a wet filter, it has a small width and its boundary edges are wetted with a layer (19) of silicone oil so that any particles of the product carried along by the escaping gas are picked up and held back by the layer of liquid. <IMAGE>
