PURPOSE:To offer switching service automatically even by a 2nd exchange having conventional functions by sending out a dial signal from the 1st exchange after converting it into the dial signal of the 2nd exchange in an adapter exchange. CONSTITUTION:When a trunk line trunk 4 receives an incoming signal from a dial-in trunk line in the adapter exchange 3, that is reported to a control part 8, which controls a network 7 so as to connect the trunk line trunk 4 and a receiving and transmitting register trunk 5. The trunk 5 sends out a pushbutton telephone signal or dial pulse signal corresponding to a switching number to an existent exchange 2 through a trunk 6. Consequently, the existent exchange 2 handles the signal just like a signal sent from an extension telephone set and mutual connection between extension is made by its intra-office trunk 12; and a subscriber telephone set 14 is called and telephone call processing is carried out.
