PURPOSE:To enable a baffle to be used under high hydraulic pressure and to reduce its weight by forming an air chamber sealed by a watertight shell made of a rigid material. CONSTITUTION:The watertight shell 1 is so formed of the rigid body such as resin or metal as to withstand high hydraulic pressure. The air chamber 2 sealed by this watertight shell 1 is formed. The baffle for a sonar consists of the watertight shell 1 and air chamber 2. A transmitter-receiver 3 is fixed on the outer peripheral surface of the watertight shell 1 in a prescribed array, and consequently a cylindrical sonar array is constituted.
