A device for making radios, cassette recorders and the like installed in motor vehicles theftproof is to be devised which offers a high degree of security against the theft of the radio. To achieve this, according to the invention a clampable pulley element 1 and two fastening elements 11, 12, which are mounted on the end of the latter, are provided for establishing a fixed and secure connection between the pulley element 1 and the casing wall 13 of the radio 3 on the one hand and a fixed motor vehicle body part, for example the splashboard 8, on the other. The pulley element 10 is preferably composed of a steel cable 14 and a casing 15 which protects the latter and is composed of a multiplicity of tubular sections 16 which engage in one another in a helical fashion. <IMAGE>
