PURPOSE:To detect the position of foreign matter in a concrete structure by detecting a sound generated when a fluid jet strikes on the foreign matter in concrete and cuts it. CONSTITUTION:A cut concrete powder water recovering and sound insulating cover 2 is provided so as to cover the cut part of a test body A of reinforced concrete to be cut. A nozzle 3 which injects an abrasive jet to cut the test body of reinforced concrete penetrates the cover 2 and cuts the test body. A noise at the time of the cutting is collected by a microphone 4, led to a noise meter main body 5, and passed through a filter 6 to record a sound of specific frequency (about 2000Hz). When the jet strikes on a reinforcing bar, the level of the sound increases and the position of the reinforcing bar is known.
