MANUFACTURE OF HOT ROLLED TITANIUM ALLOY PLATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To inhibit the cracking of an alpha+beta type Ti alloy by forging and to manufacture a hot rolled Ti alloy plate having small anisotropy in quality by making the grains of the Ti alloy fine. CONSTITUTION:A Ti alloy ingot contg. 2.45-9wt% Al and 3-6wt% V in 0.8-1.7 weight ratio of Al/V is forged. The forged ingot is finish-rolled in the alpha+beta range and the resulting plate is rapidly heated to the beta-transformation point-(100-50 deg.C) in the alpha+beta range at >=1 deg.C/sec heating rate. It is held at the temp. for 1-5hr, cooled to 500 deg.C at <=1 deg.C/sec cooling rate and slowly cooled.
