PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp copy image by using photosensitive toner obtained by combining a photoconductive material and resin for fixation in specific relation, triboelectrifying the toner previously to certain polarity and performing image exposure prior to the electrostatic charging, and then carrying out corona charging to the same polarity with the friction charging polarity of the toner. CONSTITUTION:A friction electrostatic charging process is provided before the formation of a photosensitive toner layer, and a corona electrostatic charging process is carried out not before, but after an exposure process. The photoconductive toner in use consists principally of a resin medium for fixation and a photoconductive material as usual, but those principal components are so selected that their electric characteristics, i.e. the friction electrostatic charging characteristic (specially, electrostatic charging polarity) of the resin medium for fixation and the semiconductor characteristic of the photoconductive material are in constant combination. For the purpose, the resin for fixation having positive friction charging characteristics for the photoconductive material with the property of a (p)-type semiconductor or negative electrostatic charging characteristics for the photoconductive material with the property of an (n)-type semiconductor is used. |
