PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of electrolyte, by covering the inner surface of a positive electrode case with titanium, lead or the like, while covering the inner surface of a negative electrode case with a pure lead or a lead alloy, and composing an enclosed type lead storage battery by filling a positive and a negative electrode active substances respectively. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode case 1 is formed of a stainless steel or the like, and its inner surface is covered by either titanium, a titanium alloy, lead, or a lead alloy. On the other hand, a negative electrode case 5 is formed of iron or the like, and its inner surface is covered by either a pure lead or a lead alloy. A positive electrode active substance 9 is filled in the positive electrode case 1, while a negative electrode active substance is filled in the negative electrode case 5, and they are combined together with a separator 11 to compose an enclosed type lead storage battery. Therefore, by using a metal of a high mechanical strength as the base material of the positive and the negative electrode cases 1 and 5, and by covering the contact surfaces with the active substances of the electrolyteproof metals, the rigid fastening of the sealing portions is realized, and the antileakage property can be improved. |
