<p>PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing a dye or pigment or function imparting chemical, medium consisting essentially of water and specific emulsion, having a low viscosity and improved discharging and flying stability and capable of exhibiting excellent preventing effect on feathering. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending (A) a dye or pigment, preferably reactive dye or a function imparting agent, e.g. antistatic agent, etc., with (B) a medium consisting essentially of water and further (C) a carboxylic acid-containing polymer capable of solubilizing with an alkaline substance and increasing the viscosity in the form of an acid type emulsion in an amount of 0.3-10% expressed in terms of solid weight. The component (C) is obtained by emulsion polymerizing a carboxyl-containing monomer, e.g. acrylic acid, etc., and another polymerizable monomer, e.g. styrene, etc. A substrate dyed with the above-mentioned composition is preferably pretreated with an alkaline substance, e.g. NaOH, etc., to provide remarkable effect.</p> |
