PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out the addition and ultrasonic dispersion of fine powder and to enhance the productivity by cooling hydrolyzed glass sol once, adding the fine powder to the sol and producing glass. CONSTITUTION:Glass is produced in a sol preparing stage and a gelling stage. When fine powder is added to hydrolyzed sol in the sol preparing stage, the sol is cooled once to <=40 deg.C and the fine powder is added to the sol. Since the hydrolyzed sol is cooled once, the polymn. of M-OH is inhibited, the viscosity of the sol is kept low and the coagulation of the fine powder is inhibited. Accordingly, the time required to add and disperse the fine powder is shortened and glass can be produced in large quantities with high productivity. |
