PURPOSE:To reduce labor and time for measuring toner concentration by providing a measuring container that contains developer dropped from a funnel-shaped space that receives binary system developer constituted of toner and carrier and a magnetic sensor that measures toner concentration. CONSTITUTION:A measuring container 1 has a funnel-shaped space 1a that receives binary system developer constituted of toner and carrier and a containing space 1b provided under the funnel-shaped space 1a and contains developer dropped from the funnel-shaped space 1a. The lower part of the funnel-shaped space 1a and the upper part of the containing space 1b are connected by a communicating hole 1c. A magnetic sensor 2 is installed for the containing space 1b to measure toner concentration of developer contained in the containing space 1b of the measuring container 1, and contained in a sensor containing case 3. As developer is dropped to the containing space 1b through the funnel-shaped space 1a, scattering in the state of filling of developer contained in the containing space 1b becomes small. As the magnetic sensor 2 is placed within the extent possible to detect magnetic permeability of developer contained in the containing space 1b, toner concentration can be detected at high accuracy. |
