PURPOSE:To obtain a throttle valve capable of being operated stably by providing a sliding groove on each of both upper sides of a sliding type throttle valve, and fitting a rolling element at one end of each rocking type operating arm in the sliding groove so that the throttle valve can be moved up and down by the rocking motion of operating arm. CONSTITUTION:On each of both upper sides 31A of a sliding type throttle valve 31, a sliding groove 31B is provided, and a rolling element 35 provided at one end of each rocking type operating arm 34 which is operated from the outside is fitted in the sliding groove 31B. When the operating arm 34 is rocked making a shaft 32 as the center, the rolling element 35 moves upward while being guided in the groove 318, and accordingly the sliding type throttle valve 31 also moves upward. If the angle of inclination and the shape of the sliding groove 31B is optionally determined, an optional throttle valve opening characteristic with regard to the turning of the operating arm 34 can be obtained.
