PURPOSE:To improve the power of cooling an engine by permitting the lubricating oil for cooling, that is once injected into a recessed part above the combustion chamber in a cylinder head, to be injected by means of an oil pump and an oil cooler into the recessed part again without being returned to an oil pan. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating oil that is drawn from an oil pan 5 by means of an oil pump PA is sent pressurized to an oil cooler 50, and at the same time, it is introduced to a cylinder-bead cover 22 by means of a pipe 21 bypassing on the way, and then injected through a nozzle 10 into a recessed part 3 that is provided above the combustion chamber in a cylinder head 23. The injected lubricating oil is stored in a catch tank 24 provided at the side of the recessed part 3 in the cylinder head 23, and the lubricating oil that overflows from the tank 24 is returned to the oil pan 5 by means of an exhaust passage 2a and a pipe 17. While, the stored lubricating oil is injected into the recessed part 3 again by means of an oil pump PB and an oil cooler 25.
