PURPOSE:To relieve transmission of the fluctuation of torque to a driven system and to reduce the size and make compact the driven system by employing a double structure rotary shaft comprising a flexible inner shaft and a tubular outer shaft surrounding the inner shaft then coupling only the inner shaft to the driven system. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 9 having one end secured with a rotor 3 is employing a double structure comprising a tubular inner shaft 15 and an outer shaft 16. The inner shaft 15 is constructed with a so-called flexible shaft made of steel having high shearing rigidity and low torsional rigidity. The outer shaft 16 is constructed with a tubular shaft having a large external shape and a high bending rigidity. The outer shaft 16 is supported through bearings 18, 19 on a nacelle 2(supporting section) while the end section 15a of the inner shaft 5 is coupled to a speed increasing gear 25, thereby the bending moment of the rotary shaft 9 is supported by the outer shaft 18 while the fluctuation of torque caused by the fluctuation of the wind speed is absorbed through the flexure of the inner shaft 15. Consequently, the weight of the speed increasing gear can be reduced and said gear can be made compact. |
