PURPOSE:To print various patterns such as a graph, a logogram or script, by providing a plurality of dot types for forming a predetermined figure by a dot pattern and a plurality of matrix types to the tip ends of radial spokes. CONSTITUTION:In the dot types 3-1-3-127 of a petal shaped type wheel, the longitudinal line of the dot type 3-127 is equally divided into seven to form one dot and 127 kinds of combinations of dots performing printing and dots not performing printing are arranged in a concentric circular pattern and, by selecting the combinations one at a time to perform printing, an arbitrary dot pattern resolved into seven per one longitudinal row can be printed. For example, a logogram having height three times that of a usual character is printed by hammering 17 rows X 3 = 51 times. By this method, various patterns such as a graph, the logogram or script can be printed even in a usual petal type printer without lowering the printing quality of a usual character.
