PURPOSE:To effectively avoid the processing capability of a system from being deteriorated by allowing a system controller to execute a function test forcibly stop and releasing the storage area of a function test program if no reply is given within a prescribed time to a main storage area return request. CONSTITUTION:The operating system gives the request of main storage area return to a service processor 7 and a return notice supervisory section 11D supervises the reply from the service processor 7 thereto and if the replay does not come within a prescribed time, the forced stop of the function test is requested to a system controller 2. The system controller resets the operation processing unit during the execution of function test to disconnect the service processor 7 and its end is informed to the operating system. The operating system releases the main storage area 12 for the function test program storage to assign the area for the storage of the operating system and application program, then even if a fault takes place in the service processor 7, the storage area of a function test program is recovered. |
