摘要 PURPOSE:To uniform the elongation at the end of an ingot at the top and bottom and to improve the yield of the product in a roiling stage by turning over the top and bottom surfaces of the ingot at every 1 or 2 passes of rolling in the first half of blooming. CONSTITUTION:The ingot 30 consisting of titanium, etc., is engaged with rolls 42, 44 of a rolling mill and is rolled. The rolled ingot 30a has the elongation at the end on the top surface 32a side longer than the elongation at the end on the bottom surface 34a side. The ingot 30a after one pass of rolling is returned in an arrow 40 direction and is rolled. The ingot 30b after the two passes is turned over to replace the top and bottom surfaces and is conveyed in an arrow 30 direction, then the ingot is rolled. The ingot is finished to a slab within >=50% total draft by repeating the rolling and turning over. The ingot 30 is turned over at every one pass of the rolling. The front end of the ingot 30 is elongated uniformly at the top and bottom by the rolling by such method, by which the crop loss is decreased.
