PURPOSE:To aim at stabilizing the rotational speed of a Diesel engine at a low rotational speed, by making the fitting section of a tension lever concentric with the center axis of a governor lever, and by making the fitting section of a governor lever eccentric from the center axis of the governor lever. CONSTITUTION:A pair of right and left bearings 4 are rotatably fitted on a governor lever shaft 17, and are formed with tension lever fitting sections 41 concentric with the governor shaft 17 and governor lever fitting sections 40 which are made to be eccentric toward the side remote from a shifter 26 adapted to receive governor force. Further, governor levers 7, 9 are rotatably fitted on the fitting sections 40, and a tension lever 8 is secured to the fitting sections 41. With this arrangement, when a governor lever is rotated relative to the tension lever during low speed operation, the governor lever is rotated about the center axis of the fitting sections 40 so that the lever ratio of the governor is small. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively use governor force to enhance the rotational stability of the engine.
