PURPOSE:To produce the breaking effect and damping effect, so that the driven body can be stopped without vibration, by increasing the number of excited phases of fixed field poles immediate before the fixed field poles for the last step is excited. CONSTITUTION:In the initial stage of the fourth step, which is the last step, the first and the fourth phases of the fixed field poles are excited, while the third phase excited at the third step is kept on being excited. After the elapse of predetermined time, the third phase is demagnetized and the excitation of the first and the fourth phases are continued. In this way, at one step before the last a stepping motor is driven towards the terget position between the stable points at the third step and at the fourth step. As a result, the stepping motor can be stopped almost without vibration. |
