PURPOSE:To obtain a formed article having napped decorative part with excellent appearance and touch at a low cost, by applying reticulated fibers to a surface of a substrate, cutting a part of the fibers to form a frayed part and forming a napped decorative part with said frayed part. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous material 3 of a plain weave fabric made of plied yarn filaments is bonded to a surface of a substrate 1 made of a thermoplastic resin (e.g. ABS resin) using an adhesive 2. The weave fabric is cut at nearly the middle part of the lattice 4 to form a frayed part 5. A napped decorative part is formed by the frayed part 5. A formed article having excellent appearance and touch and useful as an interior material for automobiles can be easily produced at a low cost.
