PURPOSE:To obtain the titled color-developing composition enabling easy and accurate visual recognition of the residual drug action and end-point of action of a volatile agent by its color change, by compounding a volatile color- developing drug or compound with an electron-donative coloring organic compound and a desensitizer. CONSTITUTION:The objective drug-action indicating composition can be produced by compounding (A) a volatile color-developing drug such as insecticide, repellent, moth-proofing agent, fungicide, fragrant, etc., or a mixture of a volatile color-nondeveloping drug and a volatile color-developing compound having comparable evaporation rate to the above drug with (B) an electron-donative coloring organic compound such as crystal violet lactone and (C) a desensitizer at weight ratios A:B:C of about 100:(0.01-50):(0.01-100), preferably 100:(0.2-30):(0.1-100). When a sufficient amount of the component A is left in the composition, the component B is colored by its action and when the amount of the component A left in the composition is decreased, the color of the component B is dissipated by the action of the component C. Accordingly, the residual drug action can be visually recognized by the color change of the composition.
