Coil comprises a number of electrically conductive strips with a thickness which is less than the depth of penetration of the current fed through them. A cooling pipe is connected to the coil innermost winding, or such pipes are fitted axially between the different part coils, connected with inlet and outlet pipes. There are at least three, and pref.. five windings in the coil, with each having a strip thickness which at most is 0.6 times, and pref. 0.5 times the depth of penetration of the current. |
