PURPOSE:To form a space from where an oxygen, or a combustion gas generating at a recording time, is diffused, and to improve reliability for the recording and the reproduction of information, by arranging a spacer so as to form a pre-formating signal. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 is formed on a substrate 1, meanwhile, irregularity is provided by arranging a spacer 3 on another substrate as a protecting layer 6 so as to form the pre-formating signal, and both substrates are stuck, and an air gap 4 is formed on the recording layer 2, and also, a pre-format layer 5 is provided. In this way, it is possible to secure a diffusing space for the oxygen, or, the combustion gas required at the recording time of a bit of recording information sufficiently. Also, since the protecting layer 6 is brought into contact uniformly with the recording layer 2 through the spacer 3, mechanical strength can be secured uniformly, and furthermore, it is possible to obtain an optical recording medium with high accuracy because of the formation of pre-formating. |
