PURPOSE:To reduce the floor area of a picture recorder and to take an image recording material out onto the top surface of the device by arranging a development and transfer part above an exposure part and arranging a take-out part for the image receiving paper further above it. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material 14 which is exposed by an exposure head 18 is sent to the development and transfer part 22 arranged above a rotary drum 16 through a water coating part 20. The image receiving material 26 put in a tray 24, on the other hand, is sent to the development and transfer part 22 and brought into contact with the exposed surface of the photosensitive material 14 after exposure. The photosensitive material 14 is heated at the development and transfer part 22 and its exposure image is developed and then transferred to the image receiving material 26; and the photosensitive material 14 is sent out by a conveying means 30 to a disposal box 32 after the transfer. The image receiving material 26, on the other hand, is passed through a heater 36 by a conveying means 34 and sent to a take-out tray 38. This take-out tray 38 is arranged above the development and transfer part 22.
