<p>PURPOSE:To sense the presence of a recording paper sheet before start of copy operation, by sensing an electric signal from a sensing means and an input from a change-over means in a paper sheet feed device capable of selecting a manual paper sheet feed and a paper sheet feed from a cassette. CONSTITUTION:A manual paper sheet feed table 1 is rotatingly mounted on a recording unit main body by a shaft 3 through an engaging member 2. Paper sheets P1 to be fed automatically are accommodated in a cassette 12 and the uppermost paper sheet of them is pressed against a paper sheet feed roller 9. A sensing means for sensing the presence of a recording paper sheet in a recording paper sheet feed passage comprises a photo sensor 32 and an actuator 21. The actuator 21 forms sensing units 21, 23 for the recording paper sheet and a light shield plate 23 for the photo sensor 32 and when it rotates about a rotating shaft 21a as the sensing unit 21 or 23 senses the recording paper sheet, the light shield plate 24 opens or shuts off the light passage of the photo sensor 32 for permitting an electric signal to be produced. On the other hand, when a changeover switch 40 is energized, e function for determining the presence of the recording paper sheet is converted.</p> |
