PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption by providing an electromagnet for attracting the rack of a fuel injection pump and transmitting the centrifugal force in the opposite direction for resisting against the attraction force of the electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:A movable chip 20 is coupled to a rack 2 of a fuel injection pump 1 and arranged in an electromagnet 13. A governor weight 34 is fixed to a cam shaft 3 and the centrifugal force produced by the governor weight 34 is transmitted through a lever 38 to the rack 2 in the direction for resisting against the attraction force of the electromagnet 13. Since the centrifugal force is zero at the start, the movable chip 20 can be moved by supplying a slight current to the coil of the electromagnet 13. Consequently, the power consumption can be reduced.
