PURPOSE:To bypass a repeater having a fault by providing a selection switch section for a signal from a direct uppstream repeater by a main system line and a for a signal from a next uppstream repeater by a bypass line to the input side of a receiver provided to the repeater. CONSTITUTION:Switches 12, 22, 32 are connected normally to main system lines 15, 25, 35 and only lines 15, 25, 35 constitute the relay transmission system. If a transmitter 23 is faulty in a repeater 2, for example, a receiver 31 of a direct downstream repeater 3 detects the fault on the condition that the receiver 31 cannot receive a signal correctly for a prescribed time or over, and a switch section 32 connects the line to the bypass line 26 switchingly. If a distributor 24 is faulty or a receiver 21 is faulty, the similar switch connection is applied. Thus, only one receiver in each relay is required and the repeater having a fault is bypassed quickly independently of the faulty state.
