PURPOSE:To improve drivability and restrain the generation of a harmful exhaust ingredient by stopping the purging of a canister when an engine cooling water temp. is low, and carrying out purging control within a set range based on a vehicle speed and the duration of engine operation when said cooling water temp. is high. CONSTITUTION:A canister 4 which is connected to a fuel tank 1 via a passage 3 having a check valve 2 and to the float chamber 5a of a carburetor 5 via a passage 6, is connected to an intake pipe 13 via a purging control valve 10 and purge passages 4a, 11 to purge evaporated fuel to a suction system. The purging control valve 10 is opened by introducing a negative pressure from a negative pressure take-out port 7a into its negative pressure chamber 10a. A control device 12 controls the solenoid valve 8 in accordance with the conditions of a cooling water temp. of, e.g., 35 deg.C, vehicle speed, the duration of operation, and a purging stopping period, based on the detected values of a water temp. sensor 12a, a vehicle speed sensor 12b, and a timer 12c.
