PURPOSE:To prevent the over riching of mixture gas and the misfiring caused thereby by reduction correcting the fuel supply quantity according to a load variation rate when an engine is accelerated. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 is provided with an air-flow meter 4, an opening sensor 6 for an intake throttle valve 3, a rotation sensor 7, etc. and the signals from respective sensors are fed to a controller 5 so as to control a fuel injection valve 2. The controller 5 operates a basic fuel injection quantity based upon an intake air quantity and a rotation, and when the accelerating condition of engine is detected based upon the variation of the opening of throttle valve, the variation rate of the opening of throttle valve is obtained. An acceleration/ deceleration correcting factor corresponding to said opening variation rate is retrieved from a map in a memory and employed for correcting the fuel injection quantity. Consequently, over riching is prevented during acceleration thereby misfiring can be eliminated.
