PURPOSE:To perform proper antiskid control, by a method wherein, when angular acceleration of a wheel is returned from a negative direction to a positive direction, a wheel cylinder is pressurized rapidly. CONSTITUTION:A circuit 1 is adapted to detect deceleration of a car body of an automobile itself to which an antiskid device is mounted, and a circuit 2 is adapted to detect a signal indicating that brake is rendered effective. Based on a deceleration signal from the circuit 1, a brake signal from the circuit 2, and a wheel speed signal 4, a car speed is computed at 3, and based on the comuting value and the wheel speed 4, a slip rate 6 is detected. Based on the slip rate 6 and the value of wheel deceleration 7, a discriminating circuit B discriminates a slip state, and based on the discriminating result, a brake pressure is reduced at 9 or held at 10.
