PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL DISK

PURPOSE:To not only inhibit copying of a disk but also protect recorded information by discriminating whether the final optical disk should be produced or not in accordance with presence or absence of discrimination information I and discrimination information II. CONSTITUTION:Data to be stored and discrimination information I are recorded on a master disk by a recorder 1. This optical disk I has generally a low reflection factor and cannot be reproduced by a reproducing device for normal read- only optical disks. The optical disk I is inputted to a disc processor 5, and it is checked by a discrimination information detector 2 whether discrimination information I is recorded on the innermost peripheral part or not and whether discrimination information II is recorded on the outside peripheral part of the recording part or not. Only when discrimination information I exists but discrimination information II does not exist, discrimination information II is recorded by a discrimination information recorder 3. Next, Al is vapor-deposited by a reflecting layer forming device 4 to produce an optical disk II. The optical disk II can be reproduced by the normal reproducing device.
