PURPOSE:To automatically inspect a printed circuit board by generating a virtual through-hole for an inspection, at a position on a lattice of the same pitch as a general jig, and also, at a position where a clearance can be taken enough, after the wiring design has been completed. CONSTITUTION:After a wiring design of a printed circuit board has been completed by a CAD method, etc., virtual through-holes a', b' and c' for an inspection are generated with regard to parts holes which are not on a lattice of the same pitch as a general jig for an inspection, for instance, parts holes (a), (b) and (c) which are not on a lattice of 1/10 inch pitch shown by a full line 2, respectively. The holes a', b' and c' are generated at a position on a lattice of the same pitch as the general jig, and also, at a position where a clearance can be taken enough, in the vicinity of the parts holes (a), (b) and (c), or on the wiring belonging to the same signal net as its parts holes. In this way, the inspection can be executed automatically to the board having the parts hole for which the general jig for an inspection cannot be used.
