PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a transmitter, to reduce the cost, and to increase the light transmission efficiency by using an optical fiber bundle for the bent part of an optical transmission line 3, and coating the outside face of a rod for transmission at an end part to be lighted with powder having a high refractive index and diffusing light from a light source. CONSTITUTION:A quartz rod 6 is used for the straight part of the optical transmission line 3 and the optical fiber bundle 5 is used for the bent part; and the rod end part is fixed by a heat-shrinkable ring 13, the fiber end part is fixed by a metallic ring 14, and both end surfaces are joined by fixing members 16 and 17 across a seal material 15. The sunshine converged by a condenser lens 2 is propagated in the transmission line 3 and then reflected and diffused into a room by the high-refractive-index powder 21 applied to the upper end of the outside surface of a rod 6c to be lighted. Thus, the optical fibers are used for the bent part, so the construction is facilitated; and the rod is used for the straight part, so the cost is reduced and the number of times of reflection during the transmission, thereby improving the transmission efficiency.
